AVENGED SEVENFOLD Bring 'Evil' Back On Tour Tonight
January 19, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: AVENGED SEVENFOLD begins the first 2006 leg of its Cities Of Evil tour today (Thursday, January 19) in Tucson, Arizona. Lead singer M. Shadows told Launch how the group gets itself psyched to play right before showtime. "We try to give each other a little pep talk before we go out there, you know," he said. "Just take over, you know, like, do the best show you can and just give these kids what they came for, you know. 'Cause it's hard to get yourself amped every night, 'cause you're doing the same thing every night. But to these kids, you know, like, when I was going to shows, you know, that was what you're waiting for. You're waiting for a month before the show. You don't wanna disappoint, you know. You've gotta go out there and, like, dominate every night. That's our goal."
AVENGED SEVENFOLD has dates booked through February 19 in Fresno, California.
Shadows recently told Billboard.com that another U.S. tour is in the works for the spring, this time with a co-headliner that he would not name.
The group has also been offered a slot on this summer's Ozzfest, but Shadows said they would not commit until they knew who the headliner was.
The band's major label debut, "City of Evil", has sold 426,000 copies in the U.S. since its release last June.
An AVENGED SEVENFOLD DVD is also in the works, possibly for release in the fall.
